Penha: filled hard candy and caramels from Portugal
Penha has five items listed, and every one is from Portugal. They fall into two groups. Three are filled hard candies and two are caramels.
Start with Recheio Mele, a honey hard candy with a liquid honey surprise in the middle. Recheio Caffe is the coffee one, meant to smell like fresh ground coffee. A strawberry hard candy rounds out that group.
On the soft side there’s a fruit caramel and Caramelo Leite, a milk caramel that’s soft and chewy with a golden brown color. The page compares it to a sunny day in Portugal. The fruit one gets a bolder line on its page, some of the fruitiest caramels out there. We’re just passing that along.
